Cast Iron Tea Pots-the Traditional Choice for A Top Quality Tea Pot

The drinking of tea is one of the worlds oldest and most loved past times. It has been said that the act of drinking tea is the closest thing to a magic cure-all on the face of the earth. No other food or beverage has the ability to renew and restore every aspect of the body and should the way that tea does. However while tea is a remarkable thing in its own right, the real power of the drink to be a special experience for each person may lie not in the cup but rather with the cup itself.

The opinion offered by those who state that the act of tea is more vital to its enjoyment than the actual tea, sight that the beverage has been consumed by almost every major culture of the world for well more than 2000 years. They state that while it is true that each culture does bring a unique flavor to the actual beverage the more unique aspect is that which surrounds the implements and the customs of having tea. Of course one of the most important aspects of tea is the tea pot.

The tea pot is a center of life in many family cultures. A hot pot of tea is often kept going all day for those who come into the home, both family and friends. The tea pot is considered by many to be a vital part of the familys possessions and thus it is essential that the tea pot be durable and large enough to accommodate several drinkers at a time. Of course you also want the tea pot to say something about you or your home at the same time. One of the most traditional materials for a tea pot to be made of is cast iron. This is for good reason.

Cast iron tea pots are popular around the world for a great many reasons. The first reason this material is often used for tea pots has to do with the material itself. Cast Iron is an excellent conductor of heat, and at the same time and excellent retainer of the same. This means that a cast iron tea pot will have your water hot enough to brew the tea faster than many other materials and will also (due to its heavy nature) keep the finished tea hot longer. Of course the added durability of the cast iron means that the tea pots will have significantly less chance of being damaged with daily use. This was traditionally an important aspect of items which were needed by the family for basic comfort and survival. Today it means that a cast iron tea pot is worth the purchase price as you will be able to enjoy your tea pot for many years.

Lastly, one of the most aesthetic reason cast iron tea pots are so popular and have been for so long is the fact that they can be molded, shaped ad decorated in a wide variety of ways. Some cast iron tea pots have an outer layer of another material which adds even more flexibility to the design aspect of the pot. These layered tea pots allow for a cast iron interior with all the advantages of such, with an exterior made of copper, bronze, aluminum, porcelain or many other materials.

To many the real joy of a cast iron tea pots is the fact that they claim the cast iron leaves a unique taste layer with the tea that is breed in the pot. While this has never been proven to any regard, those who stand behind their old trusted tea pots will swear to all they believe in that a cup made in the cast iron pot will taste better than any cup of tea made in any other tea pot anywhere. This is perhaps all in their mind, but to ask one of these self-proclaimed casties and they will state that the proof is in the cup.
