The New England Patriots Are Back on Top Again
The New England Patriots have just managed an amazing 45-3 landslide victory over the New York Jets. This victory puts them on top of the list for this season. And when you think about how comparatively unspectacular their recruits were last year, you have to give it to coach for training and coordinating his men well.
Alge Crumpler, Damione Lewis and Gerard Warren were among the latest recruits of the New England Patriots for this year.
Alge Crumpler's first professional football game was played with the Atlanta Falcons who hade recruited him back in 2001. His first game was played against the Carolina Panthers. The year following, in 2002, he was assigned the position of starter' It was in 2003 that he received the first of his many Pro Bowl Awards. It was also in that year that the team record for catching passes was surpassed by Crumpler. The record had been set in 1980.
In 2008, September, Crumpler transferred camps and signed up with the Tennessee Titans. During his stay with the Titans, he gained considerable weight. That, combined with his playing skills made him a very good block.
Crumpler ended up with the New England Patriots in 2010. His enlistment was timely for the team which had just lost their offensive captain to a knee injury well into the second week of the season. He has been praised by the New England Patriots' coach for being a professional player and for giving advice and tips to his teammates whenever they need that.
Gerard Warren began his career as defensive lineman with the Cleveland Browns. This was during the 2001 NFL draft. Three times in his career with the Browns he injured his knew. In 2010, after playing with the Denver Broncos and the Oakland Raiders, he finally signed up as a free agent with the New England Patriots. Although a dependable defensive lineman, he has not as yet won any awards. That is not to say that he is ineffective in his positions. Even if he does tend to injure himself, that may just the brought on by the effort that he puts into his game.
Damione Lewis was originally a recruit of the St. Louis Rams. This was in 2001 and in the five years that he played for this team, he enhanced his game play and later went on to post career high scores in tackles. When he signed up with the Carolina Panthers in 2006, he developed his playing prowess such that during this period his unit was in the all-time eleventh top position for rushing yards per game.
In contrast to the fact that the New England Patriots' recruits this year are very modestly chosen is their astounding 45 - 3 victory they just had over the New York Jets. Is it the way they train their men, the way they teach them to coordinate with the rest or is it sheer determination to win? As of now, the New England Patriots are on the top of the League. Will the New England Patriots be able to maintain their leadership for the next season which is just around the corner?
